Designing systems that determine access to care. At Volta Health, I refine complex healthcare workflows within a regulated platform serving universities, administrators, students, and clinical partners across the United States. My work directly impacts whether students can register for classes, comply with immunization mandates, and verify insurance coverage under HIPAA and FERPA constraints. The platform must support three distinct user groups simultaneously: administrators enforcing institutional policy, students navigating unfamiliar requirements, and insurance partners validating coverage. Each operates under different permissions, responsibilities, and regulatory expectations. I redesigned the verification system to adapt to state specific immunization requirements nationwide, transforming a manual, error prone workflow into a structured, automated system that reduces compliance bottlenecks during peak enrollment cycles. I improved waiver verification flows to integrate with multiple insurance carriers, enabling real time coverage validation while maintaining complete audit traceability. I pioneered structured documentation practices that translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable design specifications, reducing cross team miscommunication and establishing new standards for how design, legal, and engineering collaborate on compliance driven features. I translate regulatory language into structured decision frameworks, design safeguards for irreversible actions, and apply progressive disclosure to reduce cognitive load in high consequence workflows. Beyond feature delivery, I strengthen the platform’s design foundations by evolving pattern libraries for data heavy tables, permission aware interfaces, and mobile responsive healthcare forms.

Where I designed for trust in biometric identity. At Keyo, I led end to end product design for two core biometric identity products: an enterprise device management platform and a consumer facing dashboard. My work supported user experience strategy that contributed directly to the company’s Series A funding round. The central challenge was not visual design. It was trust. How do you design a system where users enroll biometric data while maintaining confidence in privacy, consent, and security? How do you create an enterprise interface capable of managing over 10,000 biometric scanners across hospitals, financial institutions, and retail environments without overwhelming operators? I redesigned critical enrollment and device management flows, identifying friction through structured research and usability testing. By validating solutions before engineering implementation, I reduced rework risk and minimized technical debt. I built and governed the company’s design system, introduced dark mode, and led the platform to full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. I architected scalable enterprise dashboards while balancing privacy first data handling, user consent patterns, and secure authentication standards. This work strengthened the company’s ability to demonstrate product maturity during investor due diligence and supported successful capital raising.

Building the systems thinking that shaped my later work. At Evoplay, I designed user experiences for interactive gaming products, balancing creative direction with structured product requirements. I worked across the full product lifecycle, from concept to implementation, establishing design requirements through research and cross functional collaboration. I contributed to developing and maintaining the design system, participated in agile sprint planning, and conducted usability testing to validate features before release. This role strengthened my ability to translate user insight into scalable design patterns and maintain documentation discipline under rapid delivery cycles. These foundations later proved critical in regulated environments, where clarity, alignment, and precision directly affect operational outcomes.

Strengthening execution discipline. In my first UX role, I took ownership of the full design lifecycle for assigned features, from research and ideation to prototyping and engineering handoff. I developed structured design guidelines for typography, layout, color, and composition to streamline implementation and improve consistency across interfaces. Working closely with product managers and engineers, I aligned user needs with business objectives and product data. Through usability testing and experimentation, I refined solutions based on real user behavior. This role accelerated my growth in cross functional collaboration and structured problem solving, preparing me for more complex systems and higher stakes environments.

Learning structured observation. Before product design, I worked as a freelance photographer. Photography trained my ability to observe nuance, interpret non verbal signals, and construct visual narratives. Those skills now shape how I approach UX. I design not only for functional completion, but for clarity, confidence, and emotional reassurance in complex systems. This background informs how I structure information, reduce friction, and build trust in high consequence environments.
